Napalm Death to perform in Tbilisi
This spring, British grind-core/death metal pioneers Napalm Death will perform a show in Tbilisi. The show, scheduled for April 19th at the Night Office, will be the band’s first visit to Georgia. Napalm Death was formed in the West Midlands area of England in 1981. Looked at as pioneers of the grind-core genre Napalm Death’s sound became famous for incorporating elements of crust punk and death metal, and putting forth a noise-filled sound that used heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, fuzz-bass, fast tempos, blast beats, and growling vocals.
Scum, the band’s first release (1987), was an influential record to many within extreme metal circles throughout the world. Today, Napalm Death has released 15 studio albums and according to Neilson SoundScan, a company that measures record sales, Napalm Death is the 7th best-selling death metal band in the United States.
Over the years, the band has undergone several line-up changes. None of the original members remain. The current incarnation of Napalm Death consists of Shane Embury on bass, Mark Greenway on vocals, Mitch Harris on guitar and Danny Herrera on drums.
