For more than 10 years, JAKO FM – the first and only sports radio station in Georgia – has been broadcasting on the 96.3 FM frequency, faithfully promoting the popularization of Georgian sports. The radio station, which is named after late Georgian journalist and sports commentator Kote Makharadze and sports commentator Jamlet Khukhashvili, has in recent years expanded its coverage outside of the sports world to include cultural events, tourism promotion and other media events.
In 2013 radio JAKO FM became a member of the global media holding gbtimes, which has contributed significantly to the introduction and development of new standards in Georgian media. Over the past few years, JAKO FM underwent significant changes, becoming one of the most modern and successful radio stations in Georgia. JAKO FM now enjoys a technical base comparable to world’s leading radio stations.
In 2013, JAKO FM became an official media-partner of Georgian sports throughout the country. As such, JAKO FM covers every Georgian championship and sporting event closely.
JAKO FM’s media team was one of the first to introduce tourism-related programing which provide listeners with authoritative information about Georgia and the world.
